Heim Péter szerint 305 forinton kellene rögzíteni az euró árát, mondván, az kiszámíthatóvá tenné az országot. És 694 százalékos infláció esetén valóban megfontolandó a felvetés, bár még ekkor sem biztos, hogy jó ötlet. Mindazonáltal Heim úr javaslata remek apropó arra, hogy felidézzük magunknak Milton Friedman intelmét: "Pegged exchange rates can be maintained for a time by governmentally arranged capital flows, by foreign exchange controls, or by restrictions on international trade. But there is ample evidence by now that these are at best temporary expedients and generally lead to the conversion of minor problems into major crises."
